People with disabilities have a hard time performing their daily routines, and they have no option but to get an external assistant. For that reason, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) offers high-intensity daily personal activity programs to enhance their quality of life.

Assistance with daily personal activities NDIS is designed to provide you with the peace that you are unable to get because of the adversity that you face because of your disability. The assistance that will be provided for your day-to-day work is necessary because daily tasks are always the ones that might give you a headache if you find them difficult to finish.

What is high-intensity support?

High-intensity supports are those in which participants require additional and specialised support, and to deliver that support, staff has to be more experienced and skilled in their job.

According to your needs, support staff will be assigned to you because, in some cases, participants can only be assisted by experienced nurses, and in other cases, other support workers are fine for the job.

According to participant conditions, higher-intensity support can be divided into two parts.

  • Frequent assistance is required.
  • Continuous active assistance is required.

In frequent assistance, at least one intense support is required per shift, while continuous assistance is for those who need high medical support in conditions like unstable seizures or required respiratory support.

Who needs this support?

If you are suffering from diabetes, epilepsy, unstable seizures, complex wounds, complex bowel problems, or a tracheostomy, it is suggested that you have this support.

Benefits of personal activity assistance

Personal activity assistance can work as a blessing for those who have complex healthcare needs. With this support, participants can live their lives with ease and are not required to ask family or friends for any favours. In addition, the person might not know the right way to assist you, so the participant has to explain it to them. All of the efforts can be nullified if they accrue this service.

All in all, you will not have to worry about the little things in your daily life that can be dealt with by professionals. In the meantime, you can enjoy your precious time with your loved ones. Not just that you will have less stress to deal with, and your health will surely benefit from that; in today’s time, mental health is as important as your physical health.
